Introduction
Day after day after day ― written in the newspapers, heard on the radio, seen on the television, and displayed throughout cyberspace ― the Environmental–Terror–Movement ( a.k.a. the ecology or natural lawn care movement ) is urging for measures to terrorize and destroy the Modern Green Space Industry, with ideas that have little basis in fact or science.
Nonetheless, the Environmental–Terror–Movement has gained some powerful allies, such as law–makers and policy–makers who are spineless and naïve co–conspirators.
Many versions of the following phrase have been heard ― The world would be a better place if lawns and golf courses were maintained more ecologically or more naturally.
If each of us received five cents every time we heard this phrase, we would be literally spitting gold ingots.
Let’s think for a minute ! How does this phrase really apply to the Modern Green Space Industry ? It’s not complicated.
The MODERN GREEN SPACE INDUSTRY CAN BE DESCRIBED AS THE PLANET’S GREAT CONSERVATIONIST.
For generations, the Modern Green Space Industry has been maintaining and conserving the world’s largest ground cover vegetation, and has CONTRIBUTED EXTENSIVELY TO THE BEAUTIFICATION OF OUR URBAN LANDSCAPES, and THE PRESERVATION OF OUR ENVIRONMENT.
By contrast, Enviro–Maniac–Activists, and their Environmental–Terror–Organizations, can be more precisely identified as RADICAL PRESERVATIONISTS that could not care less about the beautification of our Urban Landscape.
Enviro–Maniac–Activists pretend that the use of cosmetic pesticides is not compatible with natural settings.
Nonetheless, Enviro–Maniac–Activists have pretentiously proclaimed that the natural environment needs their stewardship.
Enviro–Maniac–Activists are obsessed with preserving our world with ANTI–MODERNIST and ANTI–TECHNOLOGY thinking. They thrive on junk science, and resort to LIES rather than the truth.
It is a fact that Enviro–Maniac–Activists are inherently OPPOSED to the modern maintenance of turfgrasses and the beautification of the Urban Landscape. ( One notable exception is Audubon International, but not Audubon state organizations. )
Enviro–Maniac–Activists PREFER JUNK LAWNS and JUNK LANDSCAPES that are unaltered by human activity, and are INFESTED with damaging weeds, insects, and disease just as the Enviro–Maniacs INFEST our society.
These ENVIRO–TERRORISTS particularly dislike the cosmetic standards used for the maintenance of golf courses, which are arbitrarily considered too lofty.
Enviro–Maniac–Activists are re–enacting the needless conspiracy against DDT. They are proceeding to terrorize and annihilate the Modern Green Space Industry, just like they did with the makers of DDT !
And the Green Space Industry responds with OUTSTANDING AND INNOVATIVE IDEAS.

The combined effort of N.Y.A.E.C. is dedicated to DISPELLING MYTHS by relying upon scientific research, thereby properly educating law–makers, policy–makers, and the public, while promoting the many benefits derived from environmental horticulture, and turf and ornamental plant maintenance.
N.Y.A.E.C. has not fallen into the trap of continuously and needlessly apologizing for the use of pest control products when none is necessary. Nor does it attempt to placate Enviro–Terrorists by promising to minimize inputs, because there is NOTHING WRONG with using pest control products.
N.Y.A.E.C. has correctly recognized that the half–truths of the Environmental–Terror–Movement are part of an ideology, or a radical religion, that is disseminating mistaken beliefs and lies concerning pest control products.

2010 Legislative Day & Remembrance Event

The Professional Landcare Network ( P.L.A.N.E.T. ) invites all Green Industry professionals and their families to gather in Washington, D.C., July 18–20, 2010, for Legislative Day on the Hill, and Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery.
[ The Hill in Washington, D.C., is the site on which the United States capitol building sits. ]
These events provide P.L.A.N.E.T. members with the opportunity to take a stand on the issues affecting the Green Industry with their members of Congress, as well as to help beautify some of the most cherished and hallowed grounds in the United States.
To participate in the Hill visits, members will need to have arranged and confirmed an appointment with their members of Congress prior to arriving in Washington.
It’s important to make follow–up calls to the legislator(s) to confirm appointments ( or ask P.L.A.N.E.T. to make the follow–up call ) and inform P.L.A.N.E.T. as appointments are confirmed.
Planned activities begin Sunday, July 18, with COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING SESSIONS capped off with an informal Welcome Reception
On Monday, July 19, Green Industry companies will help BEAUTIFY the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery during the award–winning Renewal & Remembrance program. This is one of the MOST SIGNIFICANT community service projects that P.L.A.N.E.T. does each year.
Following Renewal & Remembrance, conservative columnist Cal Thomas and liberal Democratic strategist Bob Beckel, will deliver the LEGISLATIVE DAY KEYNOTE, and demonstrate that it is possible for people with strikingly different political views to reach agreement on contentious issues, using civility and humor ― a rare occurrence in today’s politically charged environment.

Your help is needed today to stop a proposed ban of pesticides in New York.
The New York State Senate and Assembly will consider legislation which would prohibit the use of any pesticides on any school or daycare grounds, playgrounds, turf, or athletic fields. Senate Bill 4983-C has now been reported out of the Senate Codes Committee.
Even if you do not make applications to these type of school sites, it make it easier to add residential sites as the next bill they consider.

The professional pesticide applicators of New York have a limited opportunity to voice their opposition of SB 4983-C and the House version, A7937-C. Restrictions on these pesticides could create unintended consequences of overgrown public areas, increased risk of health hazards, and ineffective pest management throughout the state. Contact your State Senator as the best chance of killing the bill.

On September 29 [ 2009 ], the Ohio Senate voted unanimously to pass SB 51, a bill [ ... ] that calls attention to a growing industry in Ohio.
SB 51 designates THE LAST WEEK IN MAY as « Ohio Turfgrass Week ».
« It is important for us to recognize and spread awareness about the many economic, educational and environmental benefits of this growing industry in Ohio, » said Senator Sue Morano, who sponsored the bill.
The turfgrass industry has an economic impact on Ohio’s economy of more than FOUR BILLION DOLLARS and is responsible for helping create 68,000 JOBS.
Turfgrass is also a truly « green product » that has MANY POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS.
Some examples of the POSITIVE ASPECTS of Turfgrass are ―
● On a block of eight average homes, front laws with turfgrass have a COOLING EFFECT OF seventy tons OF AIR CONDITIONING.
● Turfgrass ABSORBS POLLUTANTS such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, and converts them to oxygen.
● Turfgrass PREVENTS SOIL EROSION through strategic placement in agriculture fields, filters contaminants from rainwater and reduces runoff.
In addition, Ohio has become an INTERNATIONAL LEADER IN TURFGRASS RESEARCH thanks to work being done at The Ohio State University, according to the Senate press release.
